Comments | アンティーク マザーグースで入手した。イエローのウランガラス。Daisy & Button with Thumbprint Panelデザインの壁面の模様がよくできている。蛍光灯下では壁面が均一なものより変化があって色合いがおもしろい。説明書では、「おそらくはAdams & Companyの、1886年以降に作成された作品」とされている。 セカイモンに同じゴブレット が出品されていたが、WESTMORELAND GLASS COMPANY製との記述があった。また、同様なLG Wright Vaseline Opalescent Glass Daisy & Button Thumbprint Goblet が出品されていたが、LG Wright、1965年ごろの製品と記述されていた。 さらに、同様なゴブレットが、Ando's Uranglass Gallery に掲載されているが、「10) ゴブレット, プレスガラス、"Daisy & Button with Thumbprint"、L.G.Wright社, 1960, H12.5cm」と説明されている。 「Sean George Pressed Glass & Goblets」に「Reproductions - An Educational Study（複製品ー教育的研究）」 として、ORIGINAL DAISY AND BUTTON WITH THUMBPRINT GOBLET と複製品DAISY AND BUTTON WITH THUMBPRINT GOBLETについての写真と解説が掲載されていた。 ORIGINAL DAISY AND BUTTON WITH THUMBPRINT GOBLET（オリジナルの生産会社名と生産時期） - 1880's, Canadian & American REPRODUCTION DAISY AND BUTTON WITH THUMBPRINT GOBLET（複製品の生産会社と生産時期） - 1930's, 1950's to 1970's, L.G. Wright Glass Co. (Possible made by Fenton during the 1950's, but still unconfirmed) ・Reproductions are heavier, thicker and lack the sharp crispness of the originals.（複製品は重く、濃く、オリジナルのくっきりした形を欠く。） ・The reproduction goblet's lack of detail is most crispness in the vertical thumbprint panel, where the thumbprints are not well defined, instead they are blurry and flow into each other. Lack of crispness is also visible in the Daisy and Button motif where it is not crisp or sharp to the touch like the originals ・One of the most distinguishable differences is on the original goblets - there is a distinct thumbprint band found around the bottom knob in the stem. This thumbprint band is not found on the reproduction examples. ・Reproductions and originals were both produced in a number of colours and stained decorations. 以上から、本品は垂直なサンバープリントが明確でないことから、オリジナルではなく、1960年代のL.G. Wright Glass Co.の複製品と考えられる。 |
