Comments | セカイモンで入手した。 説明書には、「Medallion (Hearts & Spades) Goblet - VASELINE」とされており、1890年代に生産されたとされている。 「Medallion (AKA: Hearts & Spades) is maker unknown, c. mid 1880's based on colors produced. This goblet is done in the VASELINE base with exceptional pattern detail. Any bright or dark areas you might see in my pics are just sunlight glare or shadows. The glass is consistently colored, clear and sparkling bright throughout. Stands 6 1/4" tall.」 「PatternGlass.com」の「Goblet」⇒「the 2nd room of goblets」の9列目に本品と同じパターンのゴブレットが「MEDALLION aka HEARTS & SPADES 」とされ、典型的なビクトリア時代のパターンとして、amber, blue, green のゴブレットが掲載されている。ただ、同時に生産されたと考えられる本品vaselineは掲載されていない。また、生産者は不明であるが、Bryce社ではない（グリーンは生産しなかったので）が、1880年代のものとしている。」 「MEDALLION aka HEARTS & SPADES is a VERY Victorian pattern. The factory is unknown but it is not Bryce - they didn't make green - which is many glass people's first guess. It has to be 1880s.」 同じタンブラーが「Vaseline Glass Collectors, Inc.」⇒「VASELINE GLASS MANUFACTURERS」⇒「U.S. Glass: Conglomerate of 18 glass manufacturers formed in 1891.」の2番目の「写真」：MEDALLION goblet, by one of the factories of U.S. GLASS CO. combine.に掲載されている。「U.S.Glass」は18のガラス生産会社のコングロマリット（多くの異なった企業を吸収併合した多角経営の大会社）で、注目に値する会社としては、「Adams & Co.」, 「Bryce Bros.」, 「Geo. Duncan & Sons」, 「Richards & Hartley」, 「Central Glass Co.」, 「AJ Beatty & Sons」,「Novelty Glass Co.」などが含まれる。この複合体は後の「Tiffin Glass」に引き継がれている。 「U.S. Glass: Conglomerate of 18 glass manufacturers formed in 1891. Notable companies included: Adams & Co., Bryce Bros., Geo. Duncan & Sons, Richards & Hartley, Central Glass Co., AJ Beatty & Sons, and Novelty Glass Co. Among other patterns, they made this example of “Palm Beach” pattern. The vaseline glass in the palm beach pattern is very bright, almost like the contempory glass being made today, but was made after 1906. I have not been able to discover which of the 18 factories made the “Palm Beach” pattern.
